Jackie's treehouse in Petaluma showcases the ingenious use of suspension engineering to navigate the challenges of a dense redwood grove. When clearing branches proved impractical within property constraints, the O2 team developed a cantilever system that positions the structure to appear weightless among the towering trees—at certain angles seeming ready to drift into the atmosphere. Built with generously donated redwood and cedar lumber, the design celebrates natural light through hinged French patio doors, corrugated polycarbonate windows, and an entire skylight ceiling. The result is a bedazzling retreat where redwood branches, blue sky, and filtered sunlight create an ever-changing kaleidoscope overhead, transforming a spatial challenge into an ethereal forest experience.
