We are looking to add another treehouse installation crew to our team. A Treehouse Installation lead must have several crucial skills in order to lead a team through the successful installation of a treehouse: treehouse building, carpentry, rigging, climbing, and leadership most importantly. Must have experience leading teams through successful construction projects and willingness to travel for work. Our designers, project manager, and prefabrication crew will set you up for success. Scope of work includes preplanning meetings, assistance in delivery of building components to the site, delegation of tasks to team members, understanding of tools and hardware needed for the job, and the complete process of construction up to client hand-off. Travel and accommodations are paid for. You will have the satisfaction of leading a team in the creation of stunning inhabitable artworks and enjoy a beautiful time outdoors having fun.

Architectural Designer with Construction Experience

We are seeking a full-time, additional architectural designer with significant construction experience to create working models from conceptual designs. Knowledge of hardware, framing, waterproofing, and standard building practices is a must. Experience with treehouses, digital fabrication, alternative materials, and sculptural design is preferred. Must be detail-oriented and willing to work with construction teams and vendors to help source materials and provide ongoing support to our team during the construction process. Must be a good communicator to connect between multiple people across our team and resourceful in your research to find the best materials for each project. Location in the Bay Area and ability to work in our West Oakland studio at least part-time is highly preferred.

Construction Project Manager

Our Project Manager must have field-tested construction experience in a team setting and knowledge of construction processes from design to finish. Construction experience and material knowledge is a must and sculptural, custom fabrication management experience is preferred. You will be focused on material acquisition, logistics, and progress tracking across multiple projects in different phases. We often have two projects in prefabrication phase in our West Oakland workshop and at least one team in the field for installation. The Project Manager ensures no detail goes unattended to set our teams up for success. They work with our designers, Project Engineer, and construction teams to keep workflows moving smoothly. This is a full-time and long-term position with room to grow with O2 Treehouse.

Experienced Rigger

O2 Treehouse specializes in custom rigging solutions for creative treehouse applications. We are seeking an experienced rigger who is comfortable working at heights with large loads, adept with ropework, and knowledgeable in all areas of wire rope and rigging hardware. Work can be on a gig basis or with room to expand into treehouse construction full time.

Additional Crew

We are always seeking talented carpenters and riggers to work in our shop and on-site in various installation locations. Work is primarily in the Bay Area and along the West Coast, but also includes weeks at a time in different states across the US and sometimes other countries. Treehouse construction or climbing experience is preferred, but the main key for our build positions is proficiency in detailed craftsmanship from framing to finish.
