The Lotus
Precisely angled wooden slats curve around a living oak, creating twin geometric sanctuaries connected by a handcrafted cable car that glides between hillside perches
These sculptural treehouse pods blend nautical and botanical influences through meticulous prefabrication and installation. Each structure surrounds its host oak tree without harming it, using a circular steel tube that supports cables attached to the tree's branches.
The design features custom-length vertical slats with each facet tilted at a different angle, creating the impression of unfurling petals. Transportation between the hillside structures happens via a ship-like wooden cable car that seats two, with wooden steps providing alternative access.
